有名な世界一短いラブレター

南極探検隊の昭和基地第１次南極越冬隊でのエピソードです。
昭和47年元日、隊員に家族からの電報が届けられ、和気藹々、喜びのなか、
ひとりひとりが自分に宛てられた電報を読んで披露しました。
ある隊員の番になり、新婚の奥さんからの電報を読もうとしました。
ところが隊員は声にならず嗚咽がもれてきました。
周囲では訃報でもあったのかとざわめきました。
電文にはたった一言、「アナタ」と書いてあったのです。

多くの文字を打つことができない。でも伝えたいことはつきない。
そこで「アナタ」とだけいれた、胸つまるラブレター とのこと。
